Considering the
aeronautics research work programme of the thematic priority
“Aeronautics and Space” based on the relevant part of the Specific
Programme “Integrating and Strengthening the European Research Area”,
and considering the Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) prepared by the
Advisory Council for Aeronautics Research in Europe (ACARE) setting out
the directions for European research in the next decades, the EPATS
study aims at paving the way for small aircraft business development as a
response for the two-level objectives of the ACARE vision 2020 report:
-
To meet society’s needs for a more efficient,
safer and environmentally friendly air transport.
-
To win global leadership for European aeronautics,
with a competitive supply chain, including small and medium size
enterprises.
The goal of
the SSA EPATS study is to demonstrate the needs and quantify the
potential of small aircraft business development, and to propose
recommendations for the introduction of this new European Air
Transportation System, in the context of the European Research Area.
